Health & Safety (Offences) Act 2008
20th January 2009
The Health and Safety (Offences) Act 2008 has increased the penalties for offences as of 16 January 2009.
For most Health & Safety offences, this means that the maximum fine imposed could be £20,000 instead of the previous £5,000.
The chance of imprisonment has also increased, as the act will broaden the range of offences.
